I was wondering, is the no proffesional/DSLR cameras a strict policy at Sasquatch? I am assuming they just don't let them into the Amphitheater but are fine in the campground, but I wanted to know if they allow them in anyways.
And if they don't, how the hell you can sneak in a Canon XSi...

They are totally fine in the campground, and I know a few people that bring them into the festival grounds as well. I have never brought mine because I'm too scared to bring it into the festival and lose it, or leave it at the campground while I'm at the festival and have it stolen.

Yeah Emptyfox is right, campground is more than fine. Bringing it into the festival depends on who your bag checker is. Last year they just had me open it up, so it totally would have been fine. I wouldn't bring mine for the same reasons as empty, but if your careful it will be fine.

I have gotten mine in every time I have passed through Security. Just place it in the bottom of your bag wrapped in a hoodie or coat and put all of your other things for the day on top of it..

Have they ever found it? If so, what did they make you do? I would assume you'd have to walk it back to camp... or step into another line.. hahaah

It's festival policy to not let you in with a DSLR and if you're found inside with one, they're supposed to confiscate it and/or kick you out for the day. I've seen several people in past years learn this lesson the hard way. Some 20-something girl last year had a security goon grab her camera and refused to give it back after the festival was done for the day. Just warning you.

Do you think security would give me trouble for bringing a polaroid camera into the festival? I would think not as it isn't professional but just wondering if anybody with more sasquatch experience would know.

If it doesn't have a removable lens, then you should be ok. The only trouble I've heard people having in the past is with a removable lens, as they see those as 'professional'.

No they have never found it. I have pretty much perfected the way I go through security to not have them find anything and take about 5 seconds to look at my shit and let me pass.

In my experience security does absolutely nothing about cameras. I have even had a guard at the gate let me in with mine the first time I brought it with me after a little arguing.
I highly doubt its something that is regulated at all, they are more concerned with giving people shit for drinking their own beer.
I will be taking mine again this year...and every year following. Speaking of cameras, I am anxiously waiting this view.

It shouldn't be a problem. I have had very few issues with the bag checkers. Having said that if you do run into a bad one, I don't know what they will do. Hopefully just send you back to the campsite to get rid of it, but who knows.

I love my camera way to much to risk losing it/having it stolen at Sasquatch. I just bring a shitty disposable or my powershot. I'm usually too drunk or high to take a decent picture anyway.

Yeah, I'd be careful. The security people will pat you down for 25 minutes and hover over to make sure you dump out every last drop of liquid from your nalgene bottle if it looks suspicious. Try not to bring the super expensive stuff into the fest because: A) it makes the lines longer when they have to meticulously inspect your stuff and B) you wouldn't want something to happen to it inside the Gorge.
